Wortschatz

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 13, 2026 · Last updated: August 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Karen Karapetyan, doing business as General Apps ("General Apps", "we", "us", or "our"), handles personal data when you use the Wortschatz language-learning service, including the Wortschatz plugin for ChatGPT (the "Plugin") and the website at getlingvo.com (together, the "Service").

Use only learning content. Do not enter passwords, API keys, payment-card details, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive personal data into any Wortschatz or ChatGPT Plugin tool.

1. Data we collect and why

We collect only the data needed to provide the feature you choose to use.

CategoryExamplesPurpose
Learning and deck content Words, phrases, translations, hints, examples, raw entry text, deck titles, emoji, language selections, level, and requested card count. To parse, validate, generate, display, and, when requested, save flashcard decks.
AI-generation instructions The topic or instructions you submit to the AI deck-generation tool. To generate the requested vocabulary deck. This data is sent to xAI only when you invoke that tool.
Optional identifier An optional ownerId value supplied to a Plugin tool. To place a submitted deck in the requested storage namespace. It is optional; do not use an email address, real name, or other personal identifier.
Account and profile data Data you provide when you sign in to the Wortschatz web or mobile app, such as an authentication identifier and profile information. To provide signed-in app features and display your account as you configure it.
Technical and security data IP address, device/browser information, timestamps, request metadata, and error records generated when the Service is used. To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and prevent misuse of the Service.
Support correspondence Your name, email address, and the contents of messages you send us. To respond to and document your support, privacy, or deletion request.

2. How the ChatGPT Plugin works

When you use the Plugin, ChatGPT sends the specific tool inputs needed for the request to our MCP server. We do not request your full ChatGPT conversation or chat history. The Plugin returns only the deck result, validation result, or other response needed for the tool you invoked.

Parsing, validation, language-resolution, and preview tools process supplied content for the duration of the request and do not intentionally save it to the Wortschatz application database. A submission tool saves the submitted deck content and its metadata in our database. The AI-generation tool sends the generation instructions, selected level, requested card count, and selected language pair to xAI to produce a deck; if you choose to submit that deck, the generated deck is also saved by Wortschatz.

A deck is public unless the relevant tool call sets isPrivate to true. Public decks are published on getlingvo.com and can display the deck title, optional owner ID, card terms, translations, hints, and examples. Do not include personal data in a deck you make public.

3. Recipients of data

We disclose data only to the following categories of recipients:

We do not sell Plugin learning content or use it for advertising.

4. Retention

5. Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data or a submitted deck; request removal of a public deck; or object to a particular use of your data where applicable law provides that right. Email us at karenkarapetyan286@gmail.com with the relevant deck URL or deck ID and enough information for us to verify the request. We may ask for additional information before acting on a request to protect against unauthorized deletion.

You can avoid public sharing by setting isPrivate to true before submitting a Plugin deck. You can also avoid AI-provider processing by using the non-AI deck tools instead of the AI-generation tool.

6. International transfers

We and our providers may process data in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. We use service providers that support appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the Service. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use the data-minimization practices described in this Policy and do not submit sensitive personal data to the Plugin.

8. Children

The Plugin is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 through the Plugin. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the Plugin, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Users aged 13 to 17 should use the Service only with parent or guardian involvement where required by law.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Service or applicable law. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date.
